Pokémon relationships.

Now now, I'm not talking about those relationships, just weird little coincidences between certain Pokémon.
For instance the relationship between Gengar and Clefable....

Now this is all fan made speculation, nothing has been proven by game freak or nintendo. But have you ever noticed how similar looking the two are? Gengar's species is the shadow pokémon....

Which has led to speculation that Gengar may be Clefable's shadow, this does sound believable, as their typing is ghost/normal, so its not like the two can hit each other, just like you cant hit your shadow. They were also some of the first pokémon to created, due to betas. Clefable was also meant to be the original mascot for the pokémon franchise, opposing pikachu, this means that Clefable would be considered an important pokémon, and this story may have meant to be incorporated into the anime?

The gym statues.

I must admit, I never really clicked on these little guys when I went into the Pokémon gyms, heck I didn't even click on them til I was about 10 years old.
This little fact messed with my head, for someone who never clicked on them of course. In Pokémon Red and Blue, these little statues we're hiding something. You can actually when using the good or old rod, fish inside these statues and you will find nothing other than a level 5 magikarp.

Yup, I don't get how this works, the only thing I can think of is that you fish inside the mouth of the statue, and there's a secret pond? That's just my opinion. This wont work on Cinnabar gym or Saffron gym because their statues are smaller.

Venonat and Butterfree.

This is all fan fiction, none of this has been confirmed by game freak.

Have you ever noticed how similar venonat and butterfree are like? It almost looks as if venonat should evolve straight into butterfree, with their large compound-eyes effect and matching mouths and almost the same antennae. As well as this they also have matching feet and hand shapes.
Its the same with Caterpie, Metapod and Venomoth, they all have a similar kind of head ornament, and both Venomoth and Caterpie share the effect shield dust. They also have similar matching eyes and lower body grooves. If we look at an old sprite of venomoth, this is believed to be in Pokémon Green, you can see the yellow spots, which resemble caterpies yellow rings a lot.

Missingno.

For those who don't know missingno is a 1st generation pokémon glitch. Only happening in the red and blue versions, people have used this glitch to spark different theories all over pokémon fandom.

Missingno stands for missing number, which is just an empty slot used up in the games memory. You can encounter this by talking to the old man in Viridian city, this resets your hexadecimal values so you can catch the missingno, go to cinnabar island and surf along the right hand side, right next to the shore. You can duplicate items through this glitch.

Rumors are thing such as because it is a flying type, it may have been an unreleased legendary bird. Or it would evolve into a kangaskhan, ditto, mew or Ryhdon. Other rumors said that the missingno were ways to achieve the second generation pokémon which were out at the time. The missingno glitch is harmless towards your game and cannot break it, but it can make some glitchy things happen especially in the hall of fame.

New pokémon revealed!

Oh my jesus, a new pokémon has been revealed for the upcoming X and Y for the 3DS. Now I'm not making assumptions yet, but this thing is too familiar to be a coincidence.
See what I mean? No coincidence these guys are like two caterpies in a metapod, Pokémon's youtube channel even named the video "A new pokémon with a familiar look!". New pokémon suggests that it wont be another form of mewtwo but a brand spanking new pokémon, it also performs moves similar to what mewtwo can learn, as sequenced in the video from beginning to end.

    • Psyshock
    • Energy Ball
    • Shadow Ball
    • Blizzard
    • Psycho cut
    • Focus Blast

These moves are pretty much what mewtwo can use too, and I could still see some underlying story behind them. I think that due to mewtwo only being a protoype of the experiment that was cloning mew, and because this generation is so far away from the first, I think that technology in the pokémon world may have advanced enough to create the perfect clone of mew. But thats just an opinion. I'll leave it for your thoughts to decide until the games come out near the end of 2013.
